Home from FIGI
I'm home after another amazing trip! It's hard to believe we're back so soon, but were gone for nearly 2 weeks!
The trip was beyond amazing. I was so proud of Ashley (granddaughter) and the way she presented her Girl's Project. She had such a connection with the girls, it warmed my heart. The girls appreciated the kits-they smiled, laughed, and giggled-all with such respect. My sister, Julie, and I went with her to the last school (she went to three) and Ash said it was the school she enjoyed the most. She hated to see the presentations end! All possible because of many caring people who have believed in what we've done for these very special young girls. These girls needed us!!
This trip was a little different than the last in that there were more people, sicker people, and more children. There were 19 cataract surgeries, a partial toe amputation, lots of skin diseases/lesions, people with respiratory problems and a number of other ailments.
